Double Marker with Delfia Graph

What is the Double Marker Test?

The Double Marker Test is a prenatal blood screening done in the first trimester to assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as:

  • Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome)

  • Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome)

  • Trisomy 13 (Patau Syndrome)

It evaluates two key markers in the mother’s blood:

  • Free Beta hCG

  • PAPP-A (Pregnancy Associated Plasma Protein A)

DELFIA stands for Dissociation-Enhanced Lanthanide Fluorescent Immunoassay, a highly sensitive and precise technology used to measure hormonal levels.

The DELFIA Graph is a visual risk assessment graph provided in the test report, where:

  • A colored risk curve is shown

  • Your result (risk level) is plotted as a dot or line

  • The graph helps quickly identify if the patient falls in a:

    • Low-Risk Zone

    • ⚠️ Borderline Zone

    • High-Risk Zone
