CT Scan Brain / Head

CT Scan Brain or CT Scan Head is an imaging technique that uses X-rays to create cross-sectional images of the head. Note that CT Scans involve X-Ray radiation, and are not recommended for pregnant patients.

Why is it done?

A CT Brain/Head scan is typically used to:

  • Detect head injuries (bleeding, fractures)

  • Evaluate stroke or brain hemorrhage

  • Identify brain tumors or masses

  • Diagnose hydrocephalus (fluid buildup)

  • Detect infections (abscess, encephalitis)

  • Evaluate severe headaches or neurological symptoms

  • Assess causes of confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness

Test Preparation:
Male: No Special Preparation. Informed Consent Required..
Female: For Female patiens in reproductive age group, LMP is required. Otherwise, Urine Pregnancy Test is needed.
